Andrey Makhov

He started his career back in the Soviet years. Until 1999, he led the kitchen of the Metropol Hotel, and then he moved to work at the yet-to-be-opened restaurant Café Pushkin. Before launching the new kitchen, the chef had to study hundreds of ancient recipes to adapt them for the operation of a modern restaurant. He has trained several well-known chefs and is the author of the recipe book "Classics of Modern Cuisine." He interned in restaurants in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Monaco, Belgium, England, and Italy. Thanks to Andrey Makhov, Café Pushkin has repeatedly been featured in prestigious restaurant rankings and has received important professional awards. In 2000, the chef headed the Russian team at the World Culinary Olympics in Germany, where our team won a bronze medal in the "National Lunch" category.
