Restaurant Lui

Beautiful idea, beautiful place, beautiful everything. The long-awaited restaurant from Igor Vitoshinsky has opened at Smirnov mansion, not far from GES-2. The new project is devoted to the Mediterranean – and not just the food, but also the atmosphere, the flair, the contentment that are inherent to the region. Lots of wood, tiled floors, frescos with stone pines on the walls, and red lamps hanging over all of this like the Sun at sunset. This is all the work of designer Zhenya Uzhegova, who’s known for turning Moscow establishments into the embassies of faraway countries and distant shores. The kitchen is mostly given over to Italy and Greece, and the proximity of crab meat arancini, moussaka, vitello tonnato, and Greek salad looks promising. There’s no doubt that the restaurant will become a point of attraction for many – especially those who long for the warmer climates but find themselves stuck in the city.
