Hiroki Arakawa

Born in 1972 in the Japanese city of Kumamoto. At the age of seven, moved with his parents to Osaka. Hiroki had trouble at school, preferring cooking to lessons. At the age of 15, he went to work in a restaurant as an udon cooker. At 16, he was hired as a cook — and his education took about 10 years. At the age of 28, he earned a license to cook fugu fish — and with it, a position of chef de cuisine. He has worked in Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore. In Moscow, Hiroki heads the restaurant named in his honor that promotes the culture of omakase. Additionally, Hiroki Arakawa is the brand chef of Denis Bobkov’s Tabi izakaya.
