Moscow has quite a few Italian chefs, and one of the most important ones is Veronese Giuseppe Davi who heads the Butler restaurant at Trekhprudny Side-street. Traditional Italian cuisine (with an emphasis on Sicilian cooking) that has been subjected to some reformation, dressy tablecloths, stucco on the ceilings, and a complete sense of the upcoming grand celebration that’s about to start. In the summer, the tables are set in the courtyard, under the crystal chandeliers that are hung in the sky and shed their calming light on the passatelli in broth, covered with golden foil — a very simple soup from the Emilia-Romagna region that you dream of eating again and again.
